Different School Classes |
Grades
K - 3. The basics (the differences between sweet corn, grain corn
and popping corn, by feeling, tasting, and experimenting with the
different types.)
Grades
4 - 6. More diversified uses (Have students find as many different
products that use corn as they can find and set set up a classroom
display OR take the children on a treasure hunt to a grocery store
to find as items that use corn and corn by-products).
Grades
7 - 8. Using the brochure "Corn ... Ontario's King of Crops"(see
procurement details below), have the students work in groups to
complete the multiple choice questions. Students of this age group
may find it interesting to work with students in the primary grades
in making corn husk dolls or wreaths.
