  • That the OCPA lobby the Federal and Provincial governments to make sure that farm organizations have meaningful input and direction in the implementation phase of the CAIS program, as promised by both governments.

  • That the OCPA in conjunction with the OWPMB and the OSG lobby the governments to jointly fund (both federal and provincial governments) alternatives outside the APF/BRM framework to address losses resulting from circumstances beyond an individual producers' ability to control, such as injury resulting from foreign subsidies or trade embargo injury resulting from foreign disease such as the recent BSE crisis in the beef industry.

  • That the OCPA lobby for a CAIS cap that is similar to the previous programs such as the NISA and the previous disaster aid programs. o That the OCPA survey all its members to find out:
    a) if they view the $3 million cap to be too high,
    b) what level of cap the majority of members would suggest be appropriate.

  • That OCPA update these figures (input costs) to current values in a package to use when lobbying politicians and bureaucrats to justify our positions on government programs.
