RESOLUTIONS CARRIED AT THE
2005 OCPA SEMIANNUAL MEETING

Resolution Pertaining to Trade Remedy

Whereas, subsidized U.S. corn continues to be dumped into Canada at below their cost of production, and Whereas, this increased corn dumping is causing serious economic injury to Ontario corn producers including destroying our domestic corn acreage, and Whereas, dumping is a serious WTO and NAFTA trade infraction, Therefore be it resolved, that the OCPA use any action to stop the dumping of U.S. corn in Canada.

Resolution Pertaining to Board Minutes

Whereas OCPA minutes to delegates are without detailed explanation, Whereas delegates have expressed concern that minutes as they are expressed presently do not adequately prepare them to discuss the activities of the OCPA, Whereas delegates are mandated to represent, inform and bring forth concerns of the members to the OCPA board of directors, Whereas advance notice of issues ahead of semi- and annual meetings will allow more extensive and thoughtful feedback from members, Be it resolved that the OCPA add more detail to minutes that reflect all issues that have the potential to affect OCPA members.
