New- Single Producer Registration Number for
Corn and Wheat Producers

Effective June 1, 2002, Ontario corn and wheat producers will have a single producer unique identifier number. The Agricultural Commodity Corporation (ACC), Ontario Corn Producers' Association (OCPA), Ontario Wheat Producers' Marketing Board (OWPMB) and Ontario's licensed grain dealers will be using the new unique producer number for the 2002 harvest. The single producer numbering system has been a goal of the grains and oilseeds groups for many years as a benefit toward efficient records management. The new producer registration numbering system will be centrally administered by the Agri-eBusiness Group Inc. (AEBG Inc.) located at 90 Woodlawn Road, Guelph. The AEBG Inc. is an organization originally formed by the Ontario Corn Producers’ Association, Ontario Wheat Producers’ Marketing Board, Agricultural Commodity Corporation and Ontario Soybean Growers (OSG). In March 2002, OSG decided to step out of AEBG Inc. as a result of financial constraints experienced in the current crop year. It is undetermined at this time whether OSG will participate and benefit in the central unique numbering system. Commencing with the next issue of the Ontario Corn Producer, producers should examine the mailing label on the back page of the Ontario Corn Producer magazine to verify that the name and address are accurate for their farm operation. Please use the AEBG producer unique number as it appears on the label when you deliver your corn or wheat this harvest to a licenced dealer.
