Harvest of Hope

Helping Ontario's food banks in their time of need
The Farmers Feed Cities! campaign is calling on Ontario's grain and oilseed producers to help feed struggling Ontarians this harvest season.
As the entire world is grappling with economic turmoil, the people who rely on food banks are being hit the hardest. Many families cannot afford to put food on their table and are turning to food banks for help. Food banks across Ontario are feeling this crunch and are struggling to meet the needs of those who rely on them, of which 40% are children.
To bolster the fight against hunger in Ontario, Farmers Feed Cities! has joined with the United Way to collect bushel donations from farmers this harvest season. Starting with wheat harvest and going right through the fall, donations will be collected at many of the country grain elevators across the province. The United Way is working with Farmers Feed Cities! to ensure donations go where the need is greatest both in rural communities and the cities hardest hit.
